Frequently Asked Questions
When does DDS have recruitment?
Delta Delta Sigma holds recruitment for new members to join during Fall and Winter quarters. During quarters in which recruitment is not active, we utilize this time for brotherhood events and bonding opportunities for our existing actives.
When and where are general meetings?
General meetings are held on Thursday afternoons at 5pm.
What are the requirements?
Since Delta Delta Sigma is geared towards community service, we require all members to attend 3 service events per quarter, 6 hours total, organized by our volunteer coordinator. Members are also required to complete 5 hours of fundraising and attendance at 1 off-campus fundraiser, attendance at 2 dental enrichment events, and attendance at 2 bonding socials.
All meetings and major events such as recruitment, gala, etc. are mandatory unless excused.
Is there an interview process to join DDS?
Yes. During formal recruitment, all applicants must sign up for an interview. If you are unable to attend certain events during the week of recruitment, you may send a letter of interest to our email [email protected].
Can I be a member of another organization and still join?
Yes! In fact, we encourage our members to be as active on campus as possible. Most of our members are part of professional societies for their major or various honor societies on campus. It is even possible to be a member of a social fraternity/sorority as well as a professional fraternity. However, to be eligible to join Delta Delta Sigma, you must not be in another organization under the Professional Fraternity Council.
